Vel has worked in social services for the past 11 years, and has worked with the homeless, those suffering from mental illnesses, and abused women/children. She has been in the Human Resources field for over 30 years, and brings a wealth of knowledge to Youth Crisis Center. Vel completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, and her Master’s Degree in Organizational Development and Leadership. Additionally, she is certified by the Human Resources Certificate Institute as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).  Throughout her career, Vel has held various HR leadership positions, with an emphasis on employee engagement and innovative HR strategies to create happier employees and a better workplace.
